This week during the STOP for safety session, our team in Malta carried out a session on fire safety which is essential for workplace safety, during the session they demonstrated how to use the PASS method (Pull, Aim, Squeeze and Sweep) as the standard, easy-to-remember technique for operating portable fire extinguishers. The session included using the correct type of extinguisher, proper usage techniques, and the following key safety considerations where transmitted;
Before attempting to fight a fire, activate the fire alarm and ensure a clear, safe evacuation path is behind you.
Stand back approximately 6 to 8 feet from the fire before discharging the extinguisher.
After extinguishing, watch the area for 15 minutes, as fires can reignite.

The session was ended by awarding one of the employees for pro-active reporting.
