Support the HSSEQ Manager and Country Manager in the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the MedservRegis Integrated Management System across Suriname operations. The Assistant HSSEQ Manager will provide day-to-day HSSEQ leadership and operational support, ensuring activities comply with MedservRegis Group requirements, applicable Suriname legislation, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements, client contractual requirements and applicable industry good practice.

Your Challenge…

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Safety Management Responsibilities

  • Operational Assurance: Conduct field verification of PTW, TBRAs/risk assessments, lifting activities, marine/logistics operations, contractor activities and other higher-risk work to verify compliance with Group HSSEQ requirements.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Support the development, implementation, testing and periodic review of emergency response arrangements, including drills and exercises.
  • Contractor Management: Support the HSSEQ evaluation, mobilisation, monitoring and performance review of contractors and subcontractors.
  • EHS System: Ensure incidents, investigations, CAPAs, inspections, SHOCs, PTWs, Toolbox Talks and other operational HSSEQ records are accurately entered, maintained and closed out within the corporate EHS platform.

Team Supervision Responsibilities

  • Deputising: Assume delegated day-to-day HSSEQ Manager responsibilities during periods of absence or as formally assigned.
  • Support the HSSEQ Manager in the day-to-day supervision, coordination and development of site HSSEQ personnel.
  • Provide guidance and support to HSSEQ personnel to ensure consistent implementation of Group HSSEQ requirements across Suriname operations.

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Management Reporting: Support preparation of monthly HSSEQ performance reports, KPI and Business Plan updates and management review inputs.
  • Client Interface: Support the HSSEQ Manager as an HSSEQ focal point for clients and contractors, including HSSEQ meetings, performance reporting, inspections, audits, tender/prequalification information and close-out of client actions.
  • Support the accuracy, completeness and timely submission of Group and client HSSEQ reporting requirements.

Security Responsibilities Environmental

  • Support implementation of applicable MedservRegis security requirements across Suriname operations.
  • Support applicable facility, port and maritime security requirements where these fall within the scope of Suriname operations.
  • Support arrangements for the protection of personnel, company assets, facilities and information and report identified security concerns through the appropriate channels.

Quality Responsibilities

  • ISO Readiness: Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements and ensure Suriname operations remain prepared for internal, corporate, client and Bureau Veritas certification/surveillance audits.
  • Management System Governance: Ensure site Risk & Opportunities Registers and applicable management system documentation are maintained, reviewed within required timescales and updated following significant operational, organisational, regulatory or other relevant change.
  • Audit Management: Support the site audit programme, including internal, corporate, certification, client and contractor audits, and monitor resulting corrective actions through to closure.
  • Support implementation and continual improvement of the MedservRegis Integrated Management System and associated site procedures.
  • Support management and monitoring of CAPAs and other improvement actions arising from audits, incidents, inspections, client feedback and management reviews.

Environmental Responsibilities

  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure the Environmental Aspects & Impacts Register and applicable environmental legal and other requirements are maintained, periodically reviewed and updated following significant operational, regulatory or environmental change.
  • Sustainability: Support the collection, verification and reporting of environmental and sustainability data, including energy, fuel, waste, water and emissions information where applicable.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of site environmental controls, including waste management, spill prevention, pollution prevention and resource efficiency.
  • Support environmental and sustainability KPIs, objectives, targets and Business Plan requirements.

Who Are You…

  • Experience in the use of web-based tools, Microsoft Office and Cloud Based Systems.
  • Ideally possess a tertiary level of education.
  • Experience in an HSSEQ supervisory role.
  • Proficient in English both written and spoken
  • Experience of managing HSSEQ system activities within either an Oil and Gas, Marine environments or onshore environment.

Essential Skills:

  • Nebosh International General Cert or equivalent
  • Personal commitment to HSSEQ
  • Experience implementing ISO 9001/14001/45001 management systems
  • ISPS PFSO Security Certificate
  • Relevant HSSEQ experience in oil & gas, marine logistics, industrial or similar operations

  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Competent Microsoft Office/cloud/EHS system skills
  • Experience supervising or coordinating HSSEQ personnel
