JOSEPH ZAMMIT TABONA APPOINTED AS DIRECTOR ON THE MEDSERV PLC BOARD

Joseph Zammit Tabona has been appointed as non-executive director to the Medserv Plc board.

Joseph Zammit Tabona has held positions on a number of boards of private and public companies. His experience in public practice and his active involvement in both the public and private sectors in recent years have enabled him to develop a deeper understanding of the needs of all sectors of local industry.

Mr. Zammit Tabona is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants, a Fellow Member of the Institute of Taxation and also has a warrant to practise as a Certified Public Accountant. He was a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers until his retirement from active practice in March, 2000. Mr Zammit Tabona also served as High Commissioner to the Court of St James and non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malta to the Republic of Ireland between 2009 and 2013.

On the 1st of August 2013 Mr Zammit Tabona was appointed as Special Envoy to the Prime Minister of Malta for Investment Promotion. During the same month he was also appointed as a Director of the Klesch Group Limited with the responsibility of being Head of Government Affairs for the Group. On the same day he was also appointed Chairman of the Valletta Cruise Port plc, formerly known as Viset plc.

Mr Zammit Tabona held the position of Chairman of the Malta Accountancy Board between 2001 and 2009. Other Chairmanships included the Malta Stock Exchange, Finance Malta, the Malta Development Corporation (MDC), the Malta External Trade Corporation (METCO), the Institute for the Promotion of Small Enterprises (IPSE) and that of Malta Enterprise.

He also held directorships in Bank of Valletta, the Malta Council for Arts, Science and Technology and HSBC Life Assurance (Malta) Limited. He also served a period as President of the Malta Federation of Industry.
